Michelle Scott Orthodoxou

Lactation Consultant

An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and a registered nurse trained in the U.S.

She has three sons and has breastfed the older 2 for one year each and she is currently breastfeeding her third child. Her goals are helping to educate women in breastfeeding, assisting them on learning how to breastfeed, and helping them overcome any problems should they arise. Breastfeeding is the perfect nutrition for baby and has tremendous health benefits for both mother and baby. She is looking forward to helping mothers give their babies the best start in life!

Yiannis Kerimis BSc, MSc, R.D. (USA)

Clinical Dietitian - Nutritionist

Yiannis Kerimis received his Bachelors degree (BSc) in Nutrition from Arizona State University (ASU) and then his Masters degree (MSc) in Dietetics from Florida State University (FSU).

During his stay in the U.S he completed his practicum in different areas in the health field such as hospitals, diabetic institutes, institutes for children with special needs etc and after completing all the necessary requirements set by the American Dietetic Association he received his R.D and became a Clinical Dietitian. Upon his arrival to Cyprus, he established the “Weight and Metabolism Control Center by Yiannis Kerimis” offering menu planning and counseling for weight management and health related issues. At the same time he is a part-time lecturer at Intercollege Limassol and the nutritionist of a football team. Yiannis has an experience in the educational field working as teaching personnel in various colleges and universities both in USA and Cyprus. He often appears on various TV and radio shows, he provides lectures and seminars in health related issues and writes in different magazines. He is an active member of both the American Dietetic Association and the Cyprus Dietetic Association.

Irena Anastasiou

School / Educational Psychologist and Psychotherapist (AM 150)

She studied psychology and then attended a graduate program in Applied School Psychology and then in Psychotherapy.

In 2013 she was appointed by the Cyprus Parliament as a member of the Council of Psychologists Registration of Cyprus. She is also a Board member of the Pancyprian Association of Psychologists. She attended specialized training programs on issues related to the development of children, young people, families and adults. She worked in the Educational Psychology Service of the Ministry of Education and Culture and other departments for providing mental health services. She participates in the planning and presentation of preventive programs for parents, educators and mental health professionals, both in a local and European level. She works as a private psychologist at individual and group level and provides services as a freelancer to counsel while teaching at private schools.

Gosia Yiapani

Certified Infant Massage Instructor & Babywearing Consultant

A mum of two, for whom motherhood changed life paths and priorities.

Apart from being dedicated to raising her kids, she offers baby massage classes as Certified Infant Massage Instructor. She is also a trained Babywearing Consultant, and as such can advice on the choice and correct using of slings, wraps and carriers. With a degree in Psychology, Gosia loves talking to, listening and supporting new parents.

Stella Voskaridou Economou

PhD Music & Communication

Stella Voskaridou Economou has undergraduate degrees in Music Studies from the National and Capodistrian University of Athens and in Piano performance and Composition Techniques.

Stella Voskaridou Economou has undergraduate degrees in Music Studies from the National and Capodistrian University of Athens and in Piano performance and Composition Techniques (Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue) from the National Conservatory of Athens. She awarded a MLitt at the International Centre for Music Studies of the University of Newcastle, for a research related to theatre and film music. In 2009, she completed a PhD thesis which included the study of music as narrative and vehicle of communication. Her work includes teaching and research of music as well as musical composition. Among her research interests are: the relations between music and language, the relations between music and narrative, the concept of musicality and the representation of myth through music. Apart from the publication of academic articles on these topics, she has also published the poetry books Anagelasta (Technodromion publishings, 2013) and FoV, sublingual nocturnal (Tecnodromion publishings 2015).

Dr. Maria Solomou

Pediatrician, Lactation Consultant

She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens with the grade of Very Good.

Originally from Limassol, is married to the gynecologist Minos Solomou, and has two children, Christiana and Pantelis. She graduated from the High School for Girls B Limassol with honors. She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens with the grade of Very Good. She specialized in Pediatrics in the United Kingdom, where she obtained the Diploma in Child Health and worked up and the degree of Curator in Pediatrics in London hospitals. She works as a pediatrician privately in Limassol the last 30 years. She is an active and energetic member of the Board of Pediatrics Society of Cyprus. She was from an ordinary member, a vice president and for five years the Chairman of Pediatrics society of Cyprus. Founding member and for several years a member of the Board of the Centre for Preventive Paediatrics. Member of the National Committee on Environment and Children's Health. In 2010 after successful tests acquired the International Diploma of Certified Lactation Consultant, IBCLC. Member of the National Breastfeeding Committee, the Pancyprian Association of Breastfeeding Gift of Life, and chairman of the Commission for Protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding in pediatric society of Cyprus.

Panagiota Kapnisi

Music Therapist

Panagiota Kapnisi is registered Music Therapist in UK within Health Care Profession Council.

Panagiota Kapnisi is registered Music Therapist in UK within Health Care Profession Council. HCPC : AS15334. She is also member of British Association for Music Therapy, registration number: 8864. She studied MA MUSIC THERAPY at Roehampton University , MA Music &Psychology at University of Strasbourg. Her first degree was in Music and Musicology at University of Strasbourg. She also obtained Diploma in Classical Singing Performance from Trinity College of Music. Before her studies Music Therapy studies, she participated in different psychology trainings and she worked with children with learning disabilities. She is also trained classical singer-soprano and she worked with famous singer around the world. She participated as a soloist in concerts in London and in Strasbourg. She worked as a Music therapist in NHS,UK and she has experiences in different settings. She works with infants –mothers, children with developmental difficulties and learning disabilities, children with mental health problems, adults with PMLD and mental health problems, older adults with dementia and adults after brain injury. This year, she started collaboration with the mental health department of the Ministry of Health. She is being in personal psychoanalysis/psychotherapy for more than 7 years. She is going in clinical supervision with a certified supervisor-music therapist, in order to keep ethics of her work. As dedicated professional, she has participated in various workshops and seminars relevant to psychology and music therapy as part of her continuing professional development, which she consider very important. She is continuing her studies with more research in the field of music therapy and psychology in London.
